On March 16, the Steering Committee for construction of the road to Lan Nong residential area, Loi village, Cai Kinh commune of the Provincial Military Command inspected the progress of the road opening project for local people.
Located in the center of UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark, Lan Nong is likened to a special "Net Zero village" of Lang land.
Without national grid electricity, without city lights, the people here still maintain a rustic rhythm of life in traditional wooden stilt houses, lit with oil lamps, candles or small solar panels.

The current population is 13 households with nearly 70 people, all of whom are Nung ethnic people.
Remote traffic makes people's lives even more difficult, and travel, transportation of goods and access to essential services are still difficult.
Therefore, opening a road to Lan Nong is not only to build a new traffic route, but also to open a path for a small isolated hamlet to get closer to development opportunities.
According to the Provincial Military Command, in this phase, the unit coordinated with Infantry Division 3 and Engineer Brigade 575, Military Region 1 to mobilize 60 officers and soldiers to participate in construction.
As of March 16, after 13 days of deployment, the task force has excavated and filled about 4,230m3 of soil and rock, constructed about 1.38km on a total length of 3.5km, reaching about 28% of the progress.
In the coming time, the Provincial Military Command will continue to direct officers and soldiers to dig, embank, and solidify the roadbed, leveling and elevating the road; and at the same time, install drainage culverts and drill holes to prepare so that when Military Region 1 provides explosives, they will organize blasting to lower the pass peaks.
After that, the forces will transport soil and rocks, create a foundation and prepare materials to pour concrete on the road surface.
The Head of the Provincial Military Command requested all officers and soldiers to continue to strive to overcome difficulties and accelerate progress to soon bring a new road to the people of Lan Nong.
