The Market Management Department of Can Tho City has just issued a decision to issue a plan to conduct a special inspection to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2024; before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025 in the city.
According to the plan, the inspection subjects are organizations and individuals producing and trading essential goods with high consumer demand during the Lunar New Year such as: cigarettes, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, sugar, food, electronics, refrigeration, clothing, footwear, products processed from livestock and poultry, firecrackers, and fireworks of all kinds.
Especially controlling goods traded in online environments such as: e-commerce platforms, websites, social networks like Facebook, TikTok; checking the quality of goods, compliance with legal regulations on national technical standards and regulations and promulgating standards on goods quality and food safety.
Contents of inspection of compliance with regulations on business registration; Inspection of goods and invoices, documents proving the origin of goods; product labels; Inspection of regulations on product quality (conformity marks...); Inspection of compliance with regulations on intellectual property (if any)...
The wine, beer and beverage industry will take samples to analyze quality indicators according to regulations when necessary; Check the labeling of wine products; Check compliance with intellectual property regulations (if any)...
For organizations and individuals engaged in food production and trading under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, compliance with regulations on business registration; Certificate of food safety qualified facilities... will be inspected.
Food production establishments will check regulations on the use of raw materials for food production, processing and supply; check regulations on the use of food additives and food processing aids in food production and processing; check regulations on the use of substances, chemicals, antibiotics, veterinary drugs and pesticides in food production and processing; check regulations on the use of tools, packaging materials and containers that come into direct contact with food in food production and trading; check self-declared product registration records. Take samples of raw materials and food products to analyze quality indicators according to regulations when necessary.
The plan also clearly states that the inspection area is all districts in the city. It focuses on key routes, wholesale markets, traditional markets, commercial centers, supermarkets, warehouses, wharves, cargo collection points; and frozen food import and trading units.
Plan implementation period from November 1, 2024 - March 1, 2025.
