Lao Dong Newspaper has just reported the situation of many U-a- wheel with Hanoi Backstreet Tours logo publicly operating in Hanoi, despite being many years old and showing signs of not ensuring technical safety.
These vehicles are only allowed to carry a maximum of 5 people but often carry more people than the prescribed number, install temporary seats, and not equipped with seat belts for passengers...
It is worth mentioning that although the authorities have repeatedly taken action, this type of vehicle still carries tourists "nduring" on many central streets of Hanoi, causing traffic safety risks.

Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police) said that these are convertible cars that have been removed to transport tourists.
From 2022 to present, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 has regularly patrolled, controlled and handled related violations.
"The inspection needs to be carefully verified through the inspection records, whether the vehicle is licensed and registered for transportation business or not. We will continue to strengthen inspections and handling of violations of this transportation activity" - this person affirmed.

Previously, in November 2022, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 invited a representative of the unit managing the above type of vehicle, Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company (3B Hang Tre, Ly Thai To Ward, Hoan Kiem District) to work.
Through the investigation, Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company said that it only manages 5 U- out cars serving the company's operations. The company presented a business license, which included the content of passenger transport registration.
Checking the documents related to the 5 U-oats that Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company is managing, these vehicles all have certificates of registration, technical safety and environmental protection inspection, and insurance according to regulations. All 5 vehicles are not registered for transportation business.
In addition, based on vehicle documents, the above vehicles are all over 15 years old, and have exceeded the age limit allowed for tourist transportation business under Article 13 of Decree 10/2020/ND-CP of the Government.

Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 has requested Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company to stop all passenger transport activities by car until meeting all the prescribed conditions; 5 U- since cars are not allowed to be used in passenger transport activities.
Recorded in mid-April 2025, Hanoi Backstreet Tours Company still uses many U- Obs to transport tourists to Hanoi.
These vehicles have times to stop and park to pick up and drop off passengers on the street in violation of regulations, causing traffic obstruction, especially during peak hours, affecting the tourism image of the capital...

According to the records, outside 3B Hang Tre there is a sign "Hanoi Backstreet Tours", inside is a recycled coffee shop. When asked if this is the address of Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company, some employees here said they were not sure about this.
contacting the phone number on the website of Hanoi Backstreet Tours Joint Stock Company, the man at the other end of the line said that he is not currently in Hanoi and at this time there are no employees at the company.
