People are prosperous and happy
Mr. Chong Huu Vinh - a resident of Quang Tin commune (Dak R'lap district) - said that in the past, roads to move to villages, hamlets, and local production areas were extremely difficult.
The local roads are mostly dirt roads with steep passes, so in the dry season, dust flies everywhere, and in the rainy season, they are muddy, and many vehicles are "paralyzed" and cannot move. During the rainy season, only motorbikes with chains or farm vehicles and tractors can move.
According to Mr. Vinh, in recent years, all levels of the province, district and commune have combined many different sources of capital with contributions from the people to upgrade traffic infrastructure, schools, village halls, etc.
Currently, the most obvious change is that many rural, inter-commune, inter-district roads with the center of Quang Tin commune have been invested in asphalt and concrete, creating convenience for people to travel.
"Since the roads became more convenient, the transportation of fertilizers, agricultural products... by people has become more efficient, and people's lives have become more prosperous than before" - Mr. Chong Huu Vinh, a resident of Quan Tin commune, happily said.
Similarly, Mr. Pham Van Hanh, in Dak N'Drung commune, Dak Song district, said that in recent years, the State has paid attention to and invested systematically in local traffic infrastructure and welfare projects every year.
In addition, the State also has preferential policies on loans, vocational training, science and technology transfer... so people can quickly access, apply, and develop effectively and sustainably in production and business.
"After many years of moving from Ha Tinh to a new land in the Central Highlands to make a living, this is the most fulfilling and warmest Tet for my family. The roads are convenient, the prices of agricultural products are stable and increasing... this year my family has built a new, spacious house, bought a car, and life is gradually becoming more prosperous and better" - Mr. Hay shared.
Sweet fruits on the journey of poverty reduction
For example, in Dak R'lap district, up to now, most people no longer have the mindset of waiting for support from the State. Ethnic minorities in the district have proactively overcome difficulties and promoted economic development in many forms.
In agricultural production, people have known how to exploit the advantages and potentials of climate and land, boldly transformed crop structure and applied scientific and technical advances in production, thus bringing high economic efficiency.
In particular, it is encouraging that the productivity of key fruit trees and industrial crops such as mangosteen, durian, cashew, coffee, pepper, rubber... all increased sharply compared to before.
"The synchronous and timely implementation of policies, especially with the constant efforts of ethnic minorities, people's lives are increasingly improved" - Vice Chairman of Dak R'lap District People's Committee Vo Thi Kieu Linh added.
According to Ms. Vo Thi Kieu Linh - Vice Chairman of Dak R'lap District People's Committee, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels, people in the district have strived to compete in labor and production, pushing back poverty and backward customs, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
In recent years, it is easy to see that in 11 communes and towns in Dak R'lap district, the material and spiritual life of the people has been clearly improved.
Recently, at the Conference of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Executive Committee, holding the 18th Conference, term XII, term 2020 - 2025, Mr. Ho Van Muoi - Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee said that with the continuous efforts and determination of the Party Committee, the consensus and support of the people, in 2024, the locality has achieved many remarkable achievements and results.
Of which, the average income per capita of Dak Nong province reached over 82 million VND/year, nearly double that of 2020.
Dak Nong province ranks 43rd out of 63 provinces and cities and 2nd in the Central Highlands region, after Lam Dong province, in terms of per capita income.
Poverty reduction work has achieved good results, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.15%, ranking first in the Central Highlands region and in the top 10 nationwide in poverty reduction work.
Regarding social security and charity work, in 2024, the province mobilized and called for over 80 billion VND. From there, nearly 200 houses were built and repaired, improving people's lives and improving the happiness index (only 5.5% were not satisfied with their current life).
