On the morning of August 6, at the 5th Session (specialized session), the 11th Da Nang City People's Council officially approved the draft Resolution on the policy of investing in the remaining shared infrastructure part of the Lien Chieu Port Project with a total budget of more than 6,200 billion VND.
Reporting on the submission at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung said that the core purpose of the project is to continue to build and complete the remaining public infrastructure for Lien Chieu wharf area. In particular, the project will urgently solve the relocation of existing liquid gasoline and oil stations in the Da Nang Bay area, ensuring absolute environmental safety and meeting the sustainable socio-economic development plan of the locality as well as the entire region.
According to the appraisal report presented by Head of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council Le Tung Lam, the project belongs to group A, the scale of implementation includes many complex technical infrastructure and site clearance items.
Specifically, the project will carry out compensation and site clearance to build a specialized railway line directly connecting from Kim Lien Station to Lien Chieu wharf area.
The city implements compensation and support for relocating 3 existing petroleum wharves (belonging to PV OIL Central, Petec Hoa Hiep, Military Petroleum Region 2) and 1 wharf of Vicem Hai Van Cement Joint Stock Company out of the bay.
The project will build an additional 920m of breakwater, followed by a length of 1,170m that has been completed before, creating a large static water area for large tonnage ships to dock safely. Invest in 2 new modern liquid cargo wharves to replace gasoline and oil stations that must be relocated and build a common traffic system about 5.73km long accompanied by synchronous technical infrastructure.
The project has a total estimated investment of more than 6,209 billion VND, mobilized from the central budget in coordination with the city budget. According to the approved roadmap, the project will be officially implemented in the period 2026 - 2030.
The City People's Council assigned the City People's Committee to be responsible for completing the implementation procedures in accordance with the law, under the close supervision of the elected bodies and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City.
