On the morning of December 9, while exercising, Mr. Phan Van Nuong, residing in Lac Duong town, Lac Duong district, (Lam Dong) discovered a rare Javan pangolin on the roadside.
After the arrest, Mr. Nuong handed over this rare animal to the Lac Duong District Forest Protection Department on the same morning.
Lac Duong District Forest Protection Department determined that this pangolin weighed nearly 7kg, was healthy, and belonged to group IB. This is an endangered, rare wild animal that needs strict protection.
The unit has prepared a document requesting Lam Dong Provincial Forest Protection Department to receive and handle it according to regulations.
Previously, on December 1, Bao Loc City Forest Protection Department also received a 2.2kg pangolin from Mr. Le Van Ha, a local resident.
This pangolin crawled into Mr. Ha's yard and was handed over by his family immediately after being discovered.
