In the first days of 2025, 25 H'Mong ethnic households in Ta Han village, Xuan Lac commune, Cho Don district (Bac Kan) are preparing necessary items to move to new houses in the resettlement area that is being urgently completed. The joy and excitement are bustling throughout the village.
For many days now, Giang A The and his wife, one of the households heavily affected by the landslide in Ta Han village, have been helping soldiers of Military Region 1 complete the final tasks for their dream house.
"The whole family is eagerly waiting for the day we receive our house. Before, we lived in a dilapidated house, worried about landslides. Just thinking about living in a solid house makes us happy. The living conditions here are favorable, close to farming land," Mr. The happily said.
The entire Ta Han village has 113 households with 570 people who are Hmong people, mainly farming on high mountain slopes. During the recent storm No. 3, 25 households had to move to temporary housing, these households are eligible for resettlement housing and land.
The Ta Han resettlement area, with 25 solid houses, electricity, clean water, and convenient transportation, started construction in early November 2024. The project has a total investment of 28 billion VND supported by the Ministry of National Defense and directly constructed by officers and soldiers.
The houses are built solidly and firmly on land that has been assessed as geologically stable and convenient for transportation. Full of auxiliary works to meet the living needs of the people.
Up to now, all the houses have been completed, some items such as internal roads and water connections are being implemented.
Mr. Nguyen Van Canh - Deputy Chief of Politics of Air Defense Brigade 210, Military Region 1 said that after nearly 2 months of construction, the items at Ta Han resettlement area have basically been completed.
"During the construction process, officers and soldiers were regularly cared for and encouraged by the people. That was the motivation that helped the unit perform well the assigned tasks," Mr. Canh shared.
On the first day of the new year 2025, when the final construction work at the Ta Han resettlement area was almost completed, the households organized a new meal as a way of expressing gratitude to the officers and soldiers participating in the construction of the project.
The joy and excitement of the Ta Han people have demonstrated the effectiveness of the joint efforts and consensus of all levels and sectors with the people in the disaster area. The resettlement area is the beginning of a safer life and the motivation for households to rise up and change their lives.
Ms. Ma Thi Na - Standing Deputy Secretary of Cho Don District Party Committee said that Ta Han resettlement area was built to meet the expectations of many households affected by natural disasters.
"During the implementation process, all communes, agencies, and organizations in Cho Don district took turns supporting necessities, funding, and labor to speed up the construction progress," Ms. Na informed.
