As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in early December 2024, the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee met and decided to take disciplinary action by expelling from the Party Mr. Luu Tri Vuong - Vice Chairman of Song Cong City.
Mr. Vuong was determined to have violated the provisions of the law on land management during the implementation of the Thang Loi extended road project, Song Cong city (phase 2) and the Thang Loi extended road residential area, and was prosecuted by Thai Nguyen Provincial Police.
Previously, on August 23, the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee decided to expel from the Party Mr. Le Van Khoi - former Chairman of Song Cong City People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.
According to the reporter's research, the investment project to build the extended Thang Loi route to Song Cong city was implemented since 2018 with a total route length of 2.4 km and a total investment of 340 billion VND.
The project is repaid with land funds on both sides of the extended Thang Loi road to invest in residential areas.

On December 12, after 6 years of implementation, the infrastructure of the Thang Loi road project is still in disarray and unfinished. Many places have become dumping grounds for household waste, spontaneous materials or livestock grazing areas.
Some items such as sidewalks, manhole covers, and lighting are rusty, cracked, and seriously degraded, causing loss of urban beauty.
Many households in the project area have not yet relocated, because it is located in the planning area, so their lives are affected from construction to agricultural production.

Mr. Nguyen Van Giang (Bach Quang ward, Song Cong city) said that his family has about 30 square meters of residential land that is subject to repossession, so for many years now, although the house has seriously degraded, it has not been possible to rebuild or repair it, making life increasingly cramped and suffocating.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sung (Cai Dan ward, Song Cong city) also said that in addition to houses that cannot be repaired or rebuilt, projects that have been delayed and unfinished for many years have also significantly affected production activities and people's livelihoods.
"My family has more than 5 sao of rice fields that have been overgrown with weeds for 4-5 years due to frequent flooding. Abandoned rice fields are a waste. This situation has lasted for many years, making life difficult," said Mr. Sung.
Informing reporters, Mr. Luu Van Thang - Chairman of Cai Dan Ward People's Committee confirmed that the Thang Loi Residential Area project has been temporarily suspended for nearly 3 years. The locality will continue to give opinions to the City People's Committee and the investor so that the project can be re-implemented soon, stabilizing people's lives.
