Hanoi - Free old model bus cards without chips are valid until December 31, 2026.

Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center (Tramoc) has just announced the extension of the validity period of the old free card model (non-chip card) for those who enjoy the policy of taking free buses. The card is applied on subsidized bus routes in Hanoi.

Accordingly, the usage time of this type of card is extended until the end of December 31, 2026.

The extension aims to create maximum convenience for passengers to have more time to access, get acquainted and switch to new forms of authentication such as virtual cards and citizen identification cards (CCCD) when using buses.

Previously, Tramoc issued and implemented the exchange of all paper monthly ticket cards to traffic ticket cards applied on all subsidized bus routes in Hanoi City. From July 1st, paper monthly tickets are no longer valid on subsidized bus routes.

Free cards (unchip plastic cards) will continue to be used until the end of July 31. From July 1, 8 free cards (unchip plastic cards) are no longer valid on subsidized bus routes.
