Ring Road 4.5, National Highway 21a, Ring Road 5, Northwest Expressway are development spaces connecting the chain of satellite cities of Hanoi (Son Tay - Hoa Lac - Xuan Mai - Van Dinh - Dai Nghia - Phu Xuyen) with Viet Tri and Vinh Yen cities of Phu Tho; connecting with Phu Ly and Dong Van cities of Ninh Binh; with Hung Yen across the Red River and Hai Phong.
This is an important belt connecting the Capital Region. In which, Hanoi Capital is the regional linkage center, the center, the driving force to promote the development of the Red River Delta region, the key economic region of the North and the whole country.
The North-South Economic Corridor is a urban development space linking the central city with the urban development space in the North (Thang Long - Noi Bai axis; Nhat Tan - Noi Bai) connecting with the chain of urban areas Vinh Yen, Song Cong, Thai Nguyen to Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang (midlands and mountainous areas in the North) to the border gate.
