On the afternoon of July 3, Hanoi City Police had initial information about the fire that occurred in Van Phu urban area.
Accordingly, at about 1:29 pm on July 3, the Command Information Center of Hanoi City Police received a fire report at house number 7, adjacent to 9, Van Phu urban area, Kien Hung ward.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Command Information Center dispatched 5 fire trucks, 1 ladder truck, 2 command vehicles and 45 officers and soldiers of the Fire and Rescue Teams in areas No. 4, 15 and 31 (Hanoi Fire and Rescue Police Department) to the scene, coordinating with local authorities, Ward Police and people to deploy fire fighting, rescue and relief work.
Leaders of the Fire and Rescue Police Department were also directly present at the scene to command firefighting operations, and at the same time mobilized 2 more command vehicles and 1 truck carrying specialized vehicles to serve rescue and relief work.
Functional forces were present at the scene at about 1:35 pm and determined that the fire had developed freely for about 15 minutes. The fire broke out strongly from the 1st floor of a 4-story house, 1 attic with an area of about 70 m2 and quickly spread to the upper floors.
According to initial information, at the time of the fire, there were 2 people trapped inside. Civil defense forces and people made initial firefighting efforts, but due to the rapid spread of fire, thick smoke and toxic gases, they could not approach.
Through scene reconnaissance, the fire commander directed officers and soldiers to use breathing tubes and specialized equipment to approach the floors of the house to search and rescue victims.
At the same time, fire fighting teams were deployed on the 1st floor and by ladder trucks approached the 2nd and 3rd floors to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring houses.

By about 2 pm, the fire was basically under control, not allowing the fire to spread to the surrounding area. By 2:07 pm, the fire was completely extinguished.
During the search and rescue process, the Fire and Rescue Police force discovered 2 victims who had died and handed them over to the medical force.
Currently, Hanoi City Police are directing functional units to urgently investigate, identify the victims, and clarify the cause of the fire for handling according to the provisions of law.
