On August 25th, information from the People's Committee of Hoang Son commune, Thanh Hoa province, said that a case of 2 sand dredging boats drifting and trapped in the Tao River bridge area, passing through Ha Binh village, had just occurred in the area.
Initial information said that the incident happened on the same morning. After receiving the information, local authorities, bridge and road management units and functional forces were present at the scene to inspect and find solutions.
According to initial verification, the 2 sand dredging boats mentioned above drifted from Nguyet Vien ward, Thanh Hoa province. When they reached the Tao River bridge area, the 2 boats were trapped at the foot of the bridge, blocking the river.
Representatives of Hoang Son Commune People's Committee said that the locality is reporting to Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to find a plan to handle the incident soon. If the ships are not moved in time, water from upstream continues to flow in, which may affect the bridge.
Previously, on the same morning, functional forces tried to start 2 sand dredging vessels to move vehicles out of the bridge area, but the vessels could not operate.
Currently, the locality has sent people to be on duty at the scene to monitor the situation and wait for handling plans" - representative of Hoang Son Commune People's Committee said.
