On April 19, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tien - Director of the Road Maintenance Management Board of Yen Bai province said that the unit is salvaging sunken assets at To Mau bridge, Luc Yen district, on the Chay river due to the collision after storm No. 3.
According to Mr. Tien, due to the impact of the circulation of storm No. 3 causing prolonged heavy rain, combined with floods in the upstream, the water level of the Chay River in the area across To Mau Bridge suddenly rose, dragging a number of dredgers; sand and gravel suction ships... drifting freely collided with To Mau Bridge, causing it to sink and being stuck under the bridge.


The authorities have issued 3 notices to find the owner, manager or legal user of the sunken and stranded metal watercraft under To Mau bridge, but no organization or individual has confirmed.
After inspecting the structure of the To Mau bridge spans and piers, ensuring waterway traffic, the Department of Construction of Yen Bai province proceeded to salvage the sunken and stranded vehicles at To Mau bridge to clear the flow, ensuring traffic before the rainy season.



The Director of the Road Maintenance Management Board of Yen Bai province added that the contractor is currently focusing on machinery, equipment and human resources to salvage the stranded shipwrecks.
After that, the volume will be gathered and determined for auction in accordance with the provisions of law.
