On the morning of September 8, Hai Phong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. said that according to preliminary calculations, the entire city had more than 300 broken electric poles. Among these, some were broken by falling trees, and some collapsed by themselves due to storm winds. Because the number of broken electric poles was so large, it would take time to fix them. Not to mention, many places are currently blocked by fallen trees blocking the road, so the electricity industry also has to wait for the Green Tree Park to clean up before having a place to replant the broken electric poles.
Therefore, Hai Phong Electricity Company is trying to restore power to 80% of customers in 4 inner-city districts: Hong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Le Chan and Hai An by 12 noon on September 8.
As for localities such as Thuy Nguyen, An Lao, Kien Thuy, Do Son, Trang Due (An Duong), the electricity industry is still checking and cannot restore power immediately. The electricity industry is trying its best to provide power to these places by 7pm the same day.
The remaining areas with more severe damage will have to wait for the electricity industry to have time to fix it. “The electricity industry will try its best to provide electricity to customers as soon as possible,” said a representative of Hai Phong Electricity Company.
