On March 10, Mr. Pham Van Nam - Secretary of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee proposed that the Phan Thiet City People's Committee direct the inspection and handling of the security and order situation at the Phan Thiet City Cemetery.

Previously, on the social network Facebook, there was an account posting a video clip with content and images reflecting a group of people "asking for gold" towards those visiting, paying homage or funerals in the Phan Thiet cemetery area, causing outrage among relatives visiting and paying homage.
The posted content has been shared and commented on by many people. Through observation, many people left comments confirming the above situation and saying that the local government needs to handle it strictly, not to let it happen again.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Song Linh - a resident of Phan Thiet said that there are relatives' graves in this cemetery. The visits to the tomb and cleaning the tomb area were accompanied by people and assisted in clearing weeds and clearing the tomb. After that, Mr. Linh gave them all 150,000 VND, then they left.
Ms. Hai Trinh, a resident of Phu Trinh ward, was upset: "I don't know when this misery will stop. Every time we light incense, there is pressure... We hope the government will intervene".
It is known that Phan Thiet cemetery is located in Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city and Phu Long town, Ham Thuan Bac district.

Faced with many public concerns, the Standing Committee of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee requested the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City to direct relevant agencies to coordinate with the Phan Thiet City Cemetery Management Board to check the content of the clip posted on social networks, identify the organization and individual with the above behavior and strictly handle it (if any) to ensure security and order in the cemetery area.
The results must be reported to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee no later than March 17, 2025.
