On the afternoon of July 19, information from the Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that rescue workers at Hon Chong beach promptly rescued an 84-year-old woman who encountered an incident while swimming in the sea.
Previously, at about 4 pm on July 19, at Hon Chong beach (Bac Nha Trang ward), an old woman born in 1942, residing in Hanoi City, suddenly had symptoms of stroke while swimming in the sea.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh Tuyen - a rescue worker of Nha Trang Bay Management Board, while on duty, discovered an old woman lying face down, motionless on the water, so he immediately approached, brought the victim ashore and performed first aid.
Thanks to being rescued at the right time, after only a few minutes, the old woman gradually woke up and showed signs of recovery. Immediately after that, medical forces dispatched an ambulance to take the victim to Khanh Hoa General Hospital for continued monitoring and treatment. Currently, the old woman's health has temporarily stabilized.
According to the Hon Chong beach rescue force, this is one of the emergency situations that occur during the peak summer tourist season, when the number of tourists flocking to the beaches increases.
Prolonged hot weather also increases the risk of health incidents, especially for the elderly and people with underlying diseases.
Nha Trang Bay Management Board recommends that people and tourists, especially the elderly or those with cardiovascular and blood pressure diseases, should swim in the sea with their loved ones, and do not go into the water when their bodies are tired or have abnormal signs.
At the same time, it is necessary to choose areas with on-duty rescue forces, avoid swimming far from the shore to receive timely support when incidents occur.
