This is one of the activities commemorating the 55th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's will (1969 - 2024); 79 years of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024); 79 years of traditional day of the Vietnam People's Police (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024); 19 years of the Festival of All People Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2024) and congratulating Ho Chi Minh City Police on receiving the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
40 mobile police soldiers equipped with AK guns, walkie-talkies, and batons rode on horseback and slowly marched around the walking street with a length of about 1.2 km.
Many people and tourists stood in long lines on both sides of the walking street, attentively watching and filming as the cavalry police group passed by.
The Cavalry Mobile Police Group under the Mobile Police Command (Ministry of Public Security), was established in early 2020, to train and use horses to prevent crime. The number of horses imported from abroad to care for, tame, and breed has now grown to hundreds of horses.
Cavalry mobile police have performed at many major occasions in the country, but this is the first time marching on Nguyen Hue walking street.
On the same evening, on Nguyen Hue walking street, a special art program "Vietnam - Fatherland in my heart" took place jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City Police.
It is known that at 8:00 a.m. on August 18 in Ho Chi Minh City, a cavalry performance, trumpet music performance, and martial arts will take place on Le Loi Street (section from Nam Ky Khoi Nghia to Ben Thanh market).
