On August 12, according to PV's investigation, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to allocate a total area of 136,140.72ha of protection forest to the Protection Forest Management Board directly under the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment.
According to the decision, the allocated forest area includes 135,870.88ha of natural forest and 269.84ha of planted forest. This is the forest area distributed in 37 communes and wards of Lai Chau province.
In which, some areas have large allocated forest areas such as Pa U commune with more than 10,366ha, Hua Bum commune more than 8,687ha, Bum Nua commune more than 8,415ha, Muong Mo commune more than 7,088ha, Sin Suoi Ho commune more than 7,186ha, Binh Lu commune more than 6,744ha, Bum To commune more than 6,088ha and Thu Lum commune more than 5,469ha.
In addition, the allocated forest area is also distributed in communes and wards such as Doan Ket, Tan Phong, Ban Bo, Dao San, Hong Thu, Khong Lao, Khoen On, Khun Ha, Le Loi, Muong Kim, Muong Khoa, Mu Ca, Nam Hang, Nam Ma, Nam So, Nam Tam, Pac Ta, Pa Tan, Pu Sam Cap, Phong Tho, Si Lo Lau, Sin Ho, Tan Uyen, Ta Tong, Ta Leng, Tua Sin Chai, Than Uyen...
According to the decision, the area, state, reserves and boundaries of the allocated forest area are determined based on the results of monitoring forest developments and relevant professional documents.
The Protection Forest Management Board under the Lai Chau Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment is the organization assigned to manage the above-mentioned forest area.
The forest allocation term is implemented according to the land allocation term decided by the competent authority.
After being allocated forest, the Protection Forest Management Board is responsible for managing, protecting, developing and using the forest area for the right purpose, complying with the provisions of law on forestry.
Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to notify the organization assigned forests of the State's regulations on forest management and award forest allocation decisions.
At the same time, preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and organizations assigned forests to specifically identify boundaries and organize the handover of forests on the ground.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is also responsible for adjusting and updating forest management records and forestry land management records assigned to the Protection Forest Management Board according to regulations.
The allocation of a large forest area to a specialized management unit aims to clearly establish the responsibilities of the organization assigned the forest in the work of forest protection and development, forest resource management and forest use in accordance with legal regulations.
