In the afternoon of August 12, many areas in the North of Ho Chi Minh City experienced thunderstorms and strong winds. Some areas in Bau Bang commune also experienced thunderstorms affecting works and trees.
At the time of the thunderstorm, black clouds and strong winds appeared in Bau Bang commune. Seeing strong winds, people ran into houses to take shelter. Some green trees in the area were knocked down by strong winds.
After the storm occurred, local functional forces were mobilized to review damage in the area and support people to overcome it.
According to records, a fairly strong thunderstorm occurred at the Bau Bang Regional Medical Center (located on D7-N9 road, Bau Bang Industrial and Urban Area, Bau Bang commune).
Strong winds blew up the corrugated iron roofs of some buildings in the Bau Bang Regional Medical Center campus. Some corrugated iron roofs were blown away by the wind, causing the area inside this medical facility to be affected.
When a thunderstorm occurs, the corrugated iron roof is blown off, medical staff and patients are advised to stay indoors. According to records, the traditional medicine building and the medical examination building have part of the corrugated iron roof blown off by the wind. A piece of corrugated iron roof is blown over towards the walkway.
Initial determination, the incident did not cause any casualties. Bau Bang Regional Medical Center said that medical staff and patients were safe. Some corrugated iron roofs were blown upside down into the sky by the wind.
Leaders of Bau Bang Commune People's Committee also said that thunderstorms in the area did not cause any casualties. Currently, functional units are reviewing and grasping the situation affected by thunderstorms throughout the area.
