On August 28, the leader of Tan Ky commune (Nghe An) confirmed the severe flooding in the area and said that he was mobilizing forces to urgently support people and overcome the consequences.
According to Mr. Trinh Huy Toan - Vice Chairman of Tan Ky Commune People's Committee, prolonged heavy rain from the night of August 27 caused the Con River to rise unusually, causing widespread flooding. The whole commune has nearly 208 flooded households, of which 26 households had to be urgently evacuated.

Agricultural areas were severely damaged with 276 hectares of rice and 31 hectares of corn submerged in water. Route 15B connecting Tan Ky commune to Nghia Dung commune (old) has been completely cut off.
Recorded in Dien Nam hamlet, floodwaters flooded into people's houses, in some places 1-1.2m deep. Many families had to evacuate and send their belongings to help. Many families had to move machinery and items to avoid the flood. Some households with two-story houses also had to move when the first floor was submerged in water.

On route 15B, people had to use boats to move through the flooded section. Floodwaters rose near the surface of the reso bridge (Tan Ky commune) and overflowed onto National Highway 48E through the Dragon Boat Jock (Tan Phu commune), endangering traffic.
The Tan Ky commune government said it is coordinating with local police, military and militia forces to provide first aid and support for people to evacuate, and at the same time deploy initial remedial measures. However, the water level of the Con River has not shown any signs of receding, and the risk of widespread flooding will continue to occur in the coming days.
