Accordingly, the scammer impersonated Vietcombank to send an email to announce recruitment and invite interviews; at the same time, asked the candidate to transfer a fee or asked the candidate to participate in the online preliminary round by downloading the application or clicking on the link; created a fake account impersonating a Vietcombank recruitment specialist and asked the candidate to join a group on messaging applications such as Zalo, Telegram, then led and instructed to download the application/ visit the link, vote for photos, experience and evaluate the product, participate in a project or perform tasks to receive commissions.
Not only that, scammers also create fake fanpages and websites to fake Vietcombank recruitment, calling for Vietcombank applications by clicking on links with malware and viruses to steal personal information or take control of the phone.
Newly recorded scams include: Subjects using social networking platforms (Viber, Zalo, Facebook...) creating fake accounts and groups impersonating Vietcombank's recruitment department; Subjects posting attractive recruitment information about a fake project named "Vietnam Talent Fund" under the "Couple of Love Lists" program, claiming that this is a social security project cooperated between Vietcombank and Vietnam Lottery Company (Viottetl).
To create trust, the subject used fake documents with seals and signatures of Vietcombank leaders, while building a complex recruitment process to create trust from the victim candidate.
After the candidate provides personal information, the subject will instruct the candidate to access fake websites (for example, duanpower.com...) to register an account and perform "mission".
"The final step is to ask candidates to transfer a sum of money (e.g. 120,000 VND) to the account of the scammer with the reasons such as: Secretary of the fund, participating in the scene "Marching Order - Prosperity Finance"... After receiving the money, the subject will appropriate and cut off contact", Vietcombank representative stated.
Vietcombank recommends: Vietcombank only notifies and contacts candidates via email with the unique domain name: @vietcombank.com.vn. All other domain names are fake.
Vietcombank's recruitment process is carried out professionally and transparently and does not require candidates to pay any fees in any form; does not require providing account information, transactions or OTP codes; does not contact candidates via hotline/ment messaging application.
"Absolutely do not access strange links, do not scan QR codes of unknown origin or register accounts on suspicious websites; do not provide personal information (citizen identification card, phone number, address...), bank account information, confidential information (password, OTP code) to anyone, in any form" - Vietcombank representative emphasized.
