On February 24, according to information from the Traffic Police Department - Nghe An Provincial Police, from the beginning of 2026 to now, the locality has received new registrations of 4,718 cars.
This figure reflects the trend of increasing personal vehicles maintained at a high level right in the first months of the year. Previously, in 2025, the whole province registered 17,032 new cars, 74,647 motorbikes and 22,27 electric motorbikes. On average, more than 1,400 cars and over 6,200 motorbikes are put into circulation each month.
According to assessments, the increase in the number of vehicles is a positive sign, reflecting the improved living standards of people, and also showing the socio-economic development momentum of the province.
Besides the income factor, the demand for car ownership is also affected by preferential policies on taxes and fees, promotional programs of car manufacturers, along with the increasing investment and completion of transport infrastructure.
Notably, at the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 155/2025/TT-BTC stipulating the collection level, collection regime, payment, and exemption of registration fees and license plate issuance fees for vehicles, applicable from January 1, 2026. Accordingly, the fee for issuing new registration certificates and license plates for passenger cars with 9 seats or less (including pick-up cars) in Zone I is reduced from 20 million VND to 14 million VND.
However, along with the rapid increase of personal vehicles, pressure on traffic management and ensuring traffic order and safety in the area is also increasing. Functional sectors are required to continue to deploy synchronous solutions to effectively control the situation in the coming time.
