On February 23, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that through an inter-sectoral inspection of sand and gravel mining activities in the area, functional agencies discovered many violations in complying with legal regulations on minerals and environmental protection.
The inspection team was established under Decision No. 1098/QD-UBND dated April 18, 2025 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province. Through inspection of 54 sand and gravel mining licenses of 53 enterprises, the results showed that 50 licenses are operating; 4 licenses are not operating due to expiration or dossier adjustment.
In the field of environmental protection, the inspection team identified 15 enterprises that did not prepare annual environmental protection work reports as prescribed, including: Dat Anh Co., Ltd.; Hai Duong NA Joint Stock Company; Quynh Tan Phat Joint Stock Company; Anh Huy Investment and Construction Co., Ltd.; Hung Dung Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company; Truong An Phu Co., Ltd.; Apollo Phuc Vinh Co., Ltd.; Truong Linh Private Enterprise; Dung Co Co., Ltd.; Thang Loi Cooperative; Lam Son Dai Thanh Cooperative; Hong Long Nam Dan Clean Sand Mining Co., Ltd.; MCK Construction Investment Joint Stock Company; Cat Phuc Loc Co., Ltd.; Bao Ngan General Trading Co., Ltd.
In addition, 2 enterprises did not collect and store hazardous waste; 1 enterprise did not sign a contract with a unit with the function of collecting, transporting, and treating ordinary industrial solid waste; 1 enterprise arranged a hazardous waste storage area that did not meet technical requirements; 1 enterprise did not provide complete documents of hazardous waste to serve management, inspection, and examination work.
The inspection team also pointed out other violations such as: not storing and providing sufficient data on the location and travel path of mining and transportation vehicles; using vehicles that do not meet registration conditions; not fully implementing regulations on mine management and operation and periodic reporting regime for mineral exploitation activities.
All violations have been recorded and dossiers transferred to competent authorities for handling. A total of 52 businesses were administratively sanctioned with a total amount of over 5.4 billion VND.
Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An province is continuing to monitor and urge businesses to overcome existing problems and violations in accordance with legal regulations.
