On May 4, according to the Nghe An Traffic Police Department, during this peak period, functional forces recorded 1,422 violations, of which 1,221 cases were handled, with a total fine of more than 1.3 billion VND.
The main violations are speeding with 413 cases; driving in the wrong lane, lane 311 cases; violating regulations on vehicle load and size 67 cases; along with 8 cases of not complying with traffic lights.
Notably, alcohol concentration violations continue to be one of the key inspection points, with 322 cases handled. This is an act that poses a high risk of causing traffic accidents, so it is strictly controlled by functional forces throughout the holidays.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions such as strengthening mobile patrols, establishing checkpoints and strictly handling violations, the traffic accident situation in Nghe An province decreased in all three criteria: number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries. In particular, during this year's holiday, no particularly serious traffic accidents were recorded.
The above results show the effectiveness of traffic safety measures, and at the same time contribute to raising people's awareness of law compliance when participating in traffic during peak periods.
