The flag-raising ceremony is held solemnly, in the atmosphere of the first day of the new year. Under the red flag with yellow star, cadres, soldiers and people on the island sing the National Anthem in unison, expressing their steadfast faith in the Party and the Fatherland.

The annual flag-raising ceremony is held to educate cadres, soldiers and people on the island about patriotism, national pride, and self-reliance, creating solidarity and excitement to work together to fulfill their duties well and firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
