On the afternoon of April 29, the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City fell into a serious traffic jam. Thousands of vehicles lined up to move slowly, making the journey back to the hometown for the April 30 - May 1 holiday more difficult for people.

Actual records show that traffic jams have occurred for a long time on National Highway 1A, Kinh Duong Vuong Street... The line of cars, motorbikes, and passenger cars was packed with road surfaces, many sections were almost unable to move.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (35 years old, from Tien Giang), his wife and two young children trapped on Kinh Duong Vuong Street towards National Highway 1A, lamented: "I started at 4pm, planning to return to Tien Giang for early holidays. Everyone thought they had just left the center and encountered a traffic jam".

In the same situation, Ms. Le Thi Lan (42 years old, from Dong Thap) said that she had to take a day off from work at noon to return to her hometown. "Every year, when there are holidays, this road is jammed," said Ms. Lan, her face tired.

Not only adults, but children also show lethargy because they have to sit in the car for too long in hot weather. "Sitting in a hot car, and seeing traffic jams like this makes everyone upset and uncomfortable. I just hope the road will be cleared soon so that I can go home and rest," said Mr. Tran Van Ba (60 years old, from Vinh Long).
