Earlier, at around 3:00 p.m. the same day, people living next to an agarwood production facility in Hamlet 7, Vinh Loc A Commune heard a loud explosion that shook the area.
Hearing the explosion, people living in the area rushed over and discovered that the agarwood production facility of a man named H was in ruins. Luckily, Mr. H and his wife were not injured.
At the scene, the house wall collapsed, bricks and stones were scattered. The incident also affected 5 neighboring houses such as a wall collapsed, ceiling collapsed, house windows were broken, some motorbikes, electric bicycles and furniture were damaged.
Local authorities then arrived to block off the scene and take statements to clarify the cause. Initially, the incident caused a child N.T.P.A (born in 2014) living near the scene to have a bruise on her forehead and feel dizzy. The girl was then taken to Binh Tan District Hospital for examination.
According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Vinh Loc A commune, the cause of the explosion came from essential oil steamer No. 3 entering from the main door, burning the electrical wiring system and affecting the wall structure of the ground floor building used as a workshop for processing agarwood essential oil steaming, causing the wall to collapse, affecting neighboring houses.
Authorities are continuing to clarify the incident.
