On September 22, the Military Command (CHQS) of Quang Tri province said that Team No. 2 for searching and repatriating martyrs' remains had just discovered and repatriated 6 martyrs' remains in the construction area within the premises of Agribank Thanh Co Quang Tri Branch, belonging to Thanh Co neighborhood, Quang Tri ward.
Previously, after receiving information that the construction area showed signs of being related to martyrs' remains, Team 2 for searching and repatriating martyrs' remains organized surveys and searches.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered many artifacts of soldiers such as tanks, ammunition boxes, AK ammunition boxes, backpacks... Continuing to expand the search scope, the unit discovered many shin bones, femoral bones, vertebrae... interspersed in bricks and stones and collected 6 sets of martyrs' remains.
After the repatriation, the martyrs' remains are brought to the Agribank Quang Tri Citadel Branch and are being organized for protection, care and incense offerings.
Currently, Team No. 2 for searching and repatriating martyrs' remains is coordinating with functional agencies to continue expanding the search scope in the above area.
On the same day, a delegation from the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command led by Colonel Truong Viet Hai - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of the province, came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
The delegation also directly inspected, grasped the situation and encouraged officials and staff of Team No. 2 for searching and repatriating martyrs' remains who are performing tasks at the scene.
