On the afternoon of December 21, 2024, in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province, the Ministry of Transport chaired and coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to organize the launching ceremony of the investment project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Transport said that the old Phong Chau bridge collapsed due to the severe impact of storm No. 3 Yagi, causing great loss of life and serious disruption in traffic on the main artery of the area.
This incident has greatly affected the local socio-economic activities, negatively affecting the lives of people in the area. Therefore, the early reconstruction of Phong Chau bridge has received the attention and close direction of General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other Party and State leaders.
With such urgency, the Prime Minister has decided to allow the construction of the new Phong Chau bridge project under the emergency construction order and requires it to be completed and put into operation in 2025.
In order to complete the project, the Minister requested that the Thang Long Project Management Board, as the Investor, direct consultants and contractors to promote the highest sense of responsibility, develop a scientific, detailed, and appropriate construction plan and method, ensuring efficiency, construction quality, and absolute safety of inland waterways, and maintaining environmental sanitation; strictly comply with technical requirements and regulations of relevant laws, and prevent corruption, negativity, and waste.
The contractor (Truong Son Construction Corporation) is required to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", uphold the highest sense of responsibility, develop a scientific and detailed construction plan and method; mobilize sufficient human resources, financial resources, modern machinery and equipment to focus on implementing "3 shifts", "4 shifts" of construction, strive to shorten the project completion schedule, ensure the quality of the project to soon connect the traffic network in the area, create the most favorable conditions for people to travel between the two sides of the river, connect Tam Nong district with Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province with neighboring localities; contribute to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the area.
Propose that the People's Committee of Phu Tho province and related units closely coordinate with the Thang Long Project Management Board, continue to create favorable conditions, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, ensure security and order so that the investor and contractors can ensure progress and efficiency in the project.
The investment project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province has a length of about 652.88m. The starting point of the project is from Km0+00 (about Km21+50.0/National Highway 32C avoiding Viet Tri city), in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province; the end point is Km0+652.88 (about Km18+551.4/National Highway 32C), in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province. In which, the length of Phong Chau bridge is about Ltc= 383.3m (calculated to the end of the abutment); the road section at both ends of the bridge connecting to the existing road on Lam Thao side is about L=113.8m; on Tam Nong side is about L=155.78m.
The project has a total investment of 635,392 billion VND; Thang Long Project Management Board is assigned as the project investor.
