At 9:45 am on September 15, Mr. Nguyen Van Linh - Vice Chairman of Phu Quy Special Economic Zone People's Committee (Lam Dong province) confirmed that functional forces are organizing the search for a missing crew member in the fishing boat accident near the island.
According to initial information, at about 5:40 am on September 15, people reported that fishing vessel LĐ 97007TS encountered an accident in the Bai Phu area, Trieu Duong village, about 1 nautical mile from Phu Quy island.
The fishing vessel has a capacity of 650CV, 22m long, engaged in angling, captained by Mr. Ngo Van Thang (born 1991, residing in Phu Quy Special Zone). There are 10 workers on board.
After returning from seafood exploitation and anchoring in the Bai Phu area, the fishing boat suddenly tilted and capsized.
At the time the ship encountered the accident, a crew member named Mr. N.D. X (born 1991) was missing.
Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station and other forces are organizing to approach the distressed fishing boat and search for missing people.
