On September 11, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City said that on September 6, after collecting information reported by people, the Department coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Cu Chi and Binh Thanh districts, and relevant agencies to conduct surprise inspections and clarify the reported information at Phat Buu Pagoda (Cay Tram 2 Hamlet, Phu Hoa Dong Commune, Cu Chi District) and the Chuc Tu Social Protection Facility for Children (Chuc Tu Shelter, address 57/8 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 15, Binh Thanh District).
Through inspection, 24 newborns at Phat Buu Pagoda and 22 babies at Chuc Tu Shelter were discovered to be being cared for and raised. However, due to Chuc Tu Shelter violating the operating conditions in managing, caring for and raising subjects at the facility, the Department of Labor - Invalids - Social Affairs of Binh Thanh District issued Decision No. 80/QD-LDTBXH on temporarily suspending the operation of this facility.
At the same time, to ensure the safety of children, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Cu Chi district and Binh Thanh district to send 46 children to the Linh Xuan Child Care and Protection Center under the Department for continued care and nurturing, and requested local authorities to verify and clarify the incident.
According to the city's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, on September 9, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Go Vap District coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect the Chuc Tu Social Protection Facility for Children, Facility 2. At the time of inspection, the facility had not been operating since the time it was licensed. Therefore, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Go Vap District issued Decision No. 712/QD-LDTBXH to revoke the facility's operating license.
From September 4 to September 9, the Social Protection Centers under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs urgently received 131 children transferred from facilities that did not meet operating conditions.
