On the afternoon of November 15, authorities in Da Teh district (Lam Dong) said that they had found the driver of a car found burned to the ground at Con O pass, in My Duc commune.
According to authorities, the driver of the above car was identified as Mr. H (42 years old), residing in Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh city.
Initial information, at around 10:45 p.m. on November 14, Mr. H drove from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Teh District. Then, from Da Teh District, Mr. H drove to Bao Loc City via Provincial Road 725.
When he reached the foot of Con O Pass, Mr. H felt tired so he stopped the car, reclined his seat and lay down to rest. While resting, Mr. H smoked a cigarette, causing the cigarette butt to fall onto the seat and catch fire.
Discovering the fire in the car, Mr. H panicked and jumped out of the car but unfortunately fell into the abyss next to it, dozens of meters deep.
At around 2:00 p.m. the same day, after a long search, Da Teh district authorities found Mr. H and took him to the district's Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Currently, Mr. H's health has stabilized and he is being taken care of by his family.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the morning of November 15, Da Teh District Police received information about the discovery of a burned-out car near the foot of Con O Pass.
Da Teh district police were present to coordinate with other forces to inspect the scene and search for the victim.
Police have examined the scene and investigated the incident of the burned car.
