In recent days, many people have been stirred up because there have been cases of receiving hundreds of billions of VND in compensation and support for households whose land was recovered to implement component project 1-1 (compensation, support, resettlement and construction of service roads in Ho Chi Minh City, the section from Toc Tien - Chau Pha intersection to Chau Duc bridge) in the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 construction investment project.
Mr. P.T. H - a resident whose land was recovered in Tan Thanh ward - said that the area around the recovered house has a very large total area, many people have their entire land recovered, in some cases up to many acres (1ha).
I have more than 8 sao of agricultural land only planted with small trees that have been recovered, according to estimates, only the land compensation is over 20 billion VND. Near me is the case of many mau of land being recovered from rubber cultivation, the compensation and support money of this household is up to hundreds of billions of VND," Mr. H said.
According to Tan Thanh Ward People's Committee (HCMC), the payment of compensation and support to people in the area is carried out in accordance with regulations, through inspection, actual review and strict approval.
In which, there are cases where they receive compensation and support money of only a few million VND, but there are some cases where they receive money up to tens, even hundreds of billions of VND, depending on the location, area of land to be recovered, and assets on land.
According to regulations, compensation and support include: compensation for the recovered land area according to survey and assessment; compensation for assets on land (crops, houses, trees...); and support money when the State recovers land.
Thus, depending on the case, people may be compensated for agricultural land being produced at a unit price of more than 2.3 million VND/m2; and at the same time be supported with about 1.68 million VND/m2 according to the provisions of Decision 11/2026/QD-UBND issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. This level of compensation and support does not include compensation for assets on land.
Through review, there is a case that received the most compensation and support in Tan Thanh ward with about 4.5ha of land currently planted with rubber trees being recovered, with a total amount of up to more than 188 billion VND. The land in this case is within a total area of more than 40ha that needs to be recovered to deploy intersections and roads connecting to Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City in the ward.
Tan Thanh Ward People's Committee said that the locality is implementing the payment of more than 2609 billion VND in compensation and support to 309 households that have been approved, both in cash and by bank transfer according to people's needs. In the near future, the locality will continue to complete dossiers to implement compensation and support payments to the remaining 267 households, with a total estimated amount of over 2,000 billion VND.
