New construction in 2025
On January 14, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the unit has completed the bidding and evaluation steps and is in the process of selecting an investor to build a rest stop on the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway. This project is expected to start construction in 2025; the expected location is at Km 36+500.
Once an investor is selected, they will be responsible for building and operating the rest stop according to modern, spacious standards, superior to the two current temporary rest stops on the Cam Lo - La Son highway.
The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board also added that the expansion of the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway is expected to begin in April 2025, and the Cam Lo - La Son route will begin expansion in June 2025.
Fix with rest stop
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported in the article: "The temporary rest stop on Cam Lo - La Son highway has turned into a "mud field" reflecting the muddy and dirty situation at the two temporary rest stops on Cam Lo - La Son highway (the section through Thua Thien Hue, now Hue City), making drivers not interested in stopping here.
The ground at these stations appears to be muddy, muddy, difficult to move and very slippery. The cause is determined to be prolonged heavy rain, combined with the volume of vehicles moving in and out, leading to the above mentioned messy situation.
Therefore, vehicles traveling on the Cam Lo - La Son highway are not very interested in moving to these two rest stops to park or rest, causing inconvenience to traffic participants.
In addition, the toilets and sinks at the two rest stops are also rapidly deteriorating due to the poor awareness of some passengers. Improper personal hygiene of passersby has made this public area dirty, affecting other passengers.
After receiving feedback from Lao Dong Newspaper, the committee has taken steps to fix the muddy situation at two temporary rest stops on the Cam Lo - La Son highway.
According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the unit used machinery to remove the mud and soil that caused slipping and sinking at the entrance and parking lot of the rest stop. At the same time, they also transported crushed stone to spread in these locations to ensure firmness and anti-slip.
Previously, on April 27, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board put into operation two temporary rest stops on the Cam Lo - La Son highway section through Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) to serve the stopping and resting needs of vehicle owners traveling on this highway.
Accordingly, a rest stop is at Km64+200 on the left side of the route (from South to North), in Huong Van ward, Huong Tra town, Hue city.
The remaining rest stop is at Km77+800 on the right side of the route (from North to South) in Huong Tho ward, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province (now Long Ho ward, Phu Xuan district, Hue city).
Each temporary rest stop is equipped with about 10 cabins, with electricity and water to serve the needs of hygiene or stopping when the vehicle has an accident. In addition, the rest stops also have prefabricated houses, parking lots, accompanying traffic safety systems and soft markers. Each parking lot is about 200 meters long and 16 meters wide.
