Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son sent Tet greetings to all employees of Hai Phong City. At the same time, he happily informed the officials, union members, and employees of some outstanding achievements in the country's socio-economic development in 2024; emphasizing that this result has a significant contribution from Hai Phong City.
The Deputy Prime Minister also praised the city's government and Trade Union for always paying attention to the lives of civil servants, public employees, and workers in recent years, especially in 2024.
Although last year, Hai Phong City was one of the localities heavily affected by storm No. 3 Yagi, the government, people and employees still made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved impressive results.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that every time Tet comes, Spring returns, our Party and State always pay attention to workers in the spirit that every citizen and every worker can celebrate Tet happily and warmly.
With such care and attention, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that each civil servant, public employee, and worker will continue to join hands to contribute to the growth, prosperity, civilization, and happiness of the city, so that Hai Phong continues to be the leading city in the cause of socio-economic development and national innovation.
At the program, the Deputy Prime Minister, leaders of Hai Phong City and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 100 Tet gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, policy families, and poor households in the city.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - a worker at Vinh An Plastic Company (Thuy Nguyen City, Hai Phong), receiving a Tet gift from the leaders of the Party and the State is a great honor. Ms. Thanh's situation is extremely difficult when her husband passed away early, she alone tries to work and earn money to raise her children despite her poor health and frequent illness.
“I am very touched by the affection and care of the Party, the State, and the Trade Union for me and other workers in difficult circumstances. This Tet gift is extremely meaningful to my children and me, giving me more strength to work, produce, and raise our children to adulthood,” Ms. Thanh shared.
According to the report of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, during the Lunar New Year 2025, the City Labor Federation directed all levels of unions to focus on negotiating with employers to pay salaries, Tet bonuses, and 13th month salary bonuses to employees; giving more than 4,000 gifts to union members and employees in difficult circumstances. According to records, the average Lunar New Year bonus for employees is 8,620,000 VND, an increase of more than 120,000 VND compared to 2024.
Trade unions at all levels organized the programs "Trade Union Tet Market", "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Thanks to the Party" in 2025 with many practical and effective activities for workers and laborers. On this Tet occasion, Hai Phong City People's Committee spent 10 billion VND to give 5,000 gifts to laborers. Trade unions at all levels of the city coordinated with employers to pay Tet bonuses, use funds and union fees to take care of workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of over 1,850 billion VND. The budget for Tet care for workers this year increased by 40% compared to last year.
