On the morning of November 6, the People's Committee of Tuyen Hoa commune (Quang Tri province) said that it had coordinated with the Cao Quang Forest Protection Station to release a rare python back into the natural environment after being discovered in a house by local residents.
Previously, Mr. Pham Van Nam (residing in Bau 3 village, Tuyen Hoa commune) discovered a large, rounded python in the corner of his house and reported it to the local authorities.
Immediately afterwards, the forest rangers and commune authorities arrived, using specialized tools to control and safely capture the python, to avoid endangering the people.
According to the rangers, the python weighed about 30kg and was still very healthy, so the capture process was difficult. After inspection, the animal was identified as a earthworm (scientific name Python bivittatus), belonging to group IIB, the list of endangered, precious, and rare wild animals that need to be protected.
The python was then brought to the natural forest area to release into the wild.
