People are excited and thank the voice of Lao Dong Newspaper
In Dong Thanh ward, the garbage collection point that has been stagnant for more than a year was a great concern for local people. Household waste is piled up, the stench is strong, flies are everywhere, affecting daily life, trading, and travel.
Since Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the ward authorities and the collection unit have taken action to handle the situation. Garbage is collected regularly, the environment in the area becomes airy and clean, no longer as shabby and foul as before.
Living near the garbage collection point, Mr. Nguyen Binh Khang happily said that for the whole year, he and the people here have to live in a foul smell, and when the doors open in the morning, flies fly into the house.
People have complained many times, but after cleaning up, the trash is everywhere. Now it's completely different. Since the newspaper reported, the authorities have cleaned up and had garbage trucks more often.

"Thank you very much to Lao Dong Newspaper for speaking on behalf of the people. Thanks to that, the air here no longer has a strong stench when it is sunny, black water flows everywhere when it rains, Mr. Khang added.
Sharing the same feelings, Ms. Truong Thi Nhanh - a long-time household in the hamlet - said that she has lived here for many years and has never seen the garbage situation last as long as it has. "If this garbage collection point is moved and the space is returned, children will have a place to play, adults will have a place to move, and if they can do so, the people will be very happy," Ms. Nhanh added.
Expecting a playground for the community
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Le Thanh Thuan - Vice Chairman of Dong Thanh Ward People's Committee - said that immediately after the reflection, the ward coordinated with the garbage collection unit to clean up, while increasing the collection frequency to limit the situation of waste accumulation. The locality will continue to direct residential groups to agree on garbage collection hours, contributing to raising people's awareness in maintaining environmental hygiene in residential areas.
"In the immediate future, we will focus on handling waste at the end of the waste heat source. In the long term, the ward is reviewing and considering the plan to relocate the gathering point to a more suitable location, Mr. Thuan informed.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Chien - Director of Ngoc Chinh Public Service Cooperative, a garbage collection unit - said that previously, many garbage collection teams brought garbage at other times such as 7am, 10am, 3pm... so there was always a situation of garbage remaining, causing people to misunderstand that it was not collected.
"The people's reflection is correct. However, if garbage is dumped on time and in accordance with regulations, cleaning will be much more effective. We have informed and the Ward People's Committee has directed local garbage collection teams to agree on a time for garbage collection.
"The unit has discussed and agreed on local garbage collection times, so that the unit can collect each night and complete before 6am according to regulations," Mr. Chien added.
Cleaning and adjusting the collection activities after Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection not only helps improve the living environment but also arouses people's legitimate desire for a common living space - where there is no more waste, but laughter, mobilization and community connection.
