Thai Nguyen - Reopening the ferry wharf will help students and people easily move back and forth across both banks of the river.

Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Linh has just assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to work directly with Tan Khanh Commune People's Committee and Diem Thuy Commune People's Committee regarding the ferry wharf in Doan Ket hamlet.

Accordingly, units focus on removing difficulties and obstacles; clearly identifying the contents of missing dossiers and procedures and the responsibilities of each agency and unit, and announcing the opening of ferry terminals according to regulations before September 15.

After the ferry terminal is announced, relevant organizations and individuals must strictly comply with the provisions of law on inland waterway traffic order and safety.

Tan Khanh Commune People's Committee is requested to comprehensively review the current status of educational facilities in the area, ensuring to fully meet the learning needs of students.

The Provincial Police directed functional forces to coordinate with local authorities to ensure security, order and traffic safety in the ferry terminal area.

In particular, during the time of completing procedures and organizing the operation of the station, promptly detect and handle violations according to regulations.

Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, in the first days of the new school year, many students in Doan Ket hamlet (Tan Khanh commune, Thai Nguyen province) had to queue at Phu Minh ferry to get on canoes to cross the Cau River to school.

The Traffic Police Department of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police coordinated with Tan Khanh Commune Police to use 2 specialized canoes to transport students and parents.

According to people, ferries used to be a means of transportation to move back and forth between the two banks of the river. However, when the ferry wharf was temporarily suspended due to insufficient conditions, travel was difficult, especially during the new school year.
