At noon on June 30, a gasoline tanker fire occurred on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, causing functional forces to mobilize many specialized vehicles to the scene to extinguish the fire and prevent the risk of fire spreading.
According to initial information from the Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, at about 11 am on the same day, a tanker truck carrying gasoline and oil with license plate 43R-935... was traveling in the direction of Da Nang to Quang Ngai.
When arriving in the area near Ba Ngon bridge, in Chien Dan commune, Da Nang city, the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Flames broke out from the fuel tank, a column of black smoke rose tens of meters high.
The Traffic Police Department in coordination with the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Da Nang City Police quickly mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers and 4 specialized vehicles to the scene to extinguish the fire.
On the one hand, firefighters approach vehicles to extinguish the fire; on the other hand, functional forces organize to ensure traffic safety, limiting the risk of affecting vehicles traveling on the expressway.
After a few minutes of effort, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. The incident did not cause serious consequences. The scene area was then inspected and handled by functional forces to ensure safety on the route.
Da Nang City Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
