Previously, the owner's collection had a yellow Corvette C3, purchased a few years ago. Both of these classic sports cars are currently in use in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Corvette C3 is the third generation of the American sports car line, produced from 1967 to 1982. The model still maintains the engine and chassis from the previous generation, while the body and interior are completely redesigned to increase aerodynamics and improve the driving experience.
In Vietnam, the Corvette C3 appears in very limited quantity, mainly as a collector vehicle. The two in the collection of a businessman in Khanh Hoa are rare models that are often found. The yellow one has been there since early, while the silver one will be brought in in 2025.
In the development period from 1964 to 1968, Chevrolet focused on comprehensively redesigning the third-generation Corvette, creating a unique "shark" design. The car is produced with two variants: T-top coupe and soft top convertible. In 1979, the Corvette C3 marked an important milestone when it reached 53,807 units, the highest number in the entire life cycle of this generation.
Technically, the Corvette C3 uses a 5.4L L30 V8 engine for about 300 horsepower. The 3-speed manual transmission is standard, while the 4-speed manual transmission (mission R20 or M21) and the RPO M40 automatic transmission are provided depending on the configuration. Some high-performance variants are produced in limited quantities, most notably the 1969 L88 Lightweight version - one of the most valuable Corvette models ever auctioned.
