The C6 is the sixth generation of the Corvette sports car, produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for model years 2005 through 2013. It is the first Corvette to feature exposed headlights (instead of hidden headlights) since the 1962 model year.
In Vietnam, there are only 3 Chevrolet Corvette C6s, 2 of which are hardtop and only 1 is softtop. This car rarely appears on the street.
In fact, this car has not been on the road for many years. The Chevrolet Corvette C6 Convertible is red, has a black soft top and a red and black interior, and was imported to Vietnam nearly 13 years ago. For a long time, it was displayed at a film studio in District 9 (now Thu Duc City), Ho Chi Minh City.
In terms of dimensions, the Chevrolet Corvette C6 is 4,435 mm long, 1,844 mm wide and 1,250 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,685 mm long. The soft top has a folding roof at the rear of the car, while the hard top can be removed by hand and stored in the roof compartment. The design of the C6 is quite impressive with angular lights, dual taillights and symmetrical dual exhaust pipes.
The Corvette C6 uses a 6.0-liter V8 engine, with a higher level of refinement than the C5. The new GMLS2 engine produces 400 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Like the C5, the Corvette C6's suspension consists of independent double wishbones and transverse fiberglass monoleaf springs, along with optional variable dampers.
With the automatic transmission, the Corvette C6 gets 16 liters/100 km in the city and 9.4 liters/100 km on the highway. The manual transmission version gets 15 liters/100 km in the city and 9.0 liters/100 km on the highway.
The car's transmission is equipped with a Shift Assist System (CAGS), which requires the driver to shift directly from 1st to 4th gear when operating at low rpm. Since 2008, Chevrolet has upgraded the engine for this car line, using a 6.2-liter engine with a capacity of 430 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 580 Nm at 4,600 rpm.
