According to data from a report from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the Vietnamese auto market in June prospered, slightly increasing by 3% compared to May and up 12% compared to June 2023.
In the A-class SUV segment, the Kia Sonet model returned to the leading position with 601 vehicles sold in June, an increase of 60.9% compared to May (366 vehicles). Cumulatively from the beginning of 2024, a total of 3,419 Kia Sonet cars have been delivered to customers in Vietnam.
In mid-June 2024, the latest version of Kia Sonet was officially launched in the Vietnamese market. The car currently has 3 versions and prices range from 539 - 624 million VND.
Ranking 2nd in sales in the A-class SUV segment is Toyota Raize. However, the number of cars sold of this product is quite far from the leading position of Kia Sonet. Toyota Raize had 403 cars sold in June, down 30 cars compared to May (433 cars). In the first 6 months of 2024, Toyota Raize sold 1,967 cars in the Vietnamese market.
Similar to previous months, Hyundai Venue is still the worst-selling model in the A-class SUV segment. In the past month, this model achieved sales of 342 vehicles, an increase of 15.9%. In the first 6 months of this year, Vietnamese people bought a total of 1,515 Venues.
Part of the reason for Hyundai Venue's growth in June 2024 is the new list price. Accordingly, from mid-June, this model's price was adjusted down to 499 million VND in the 1.0 Turbo version and 539 million VND in the special 1.0 Turbo version.
