Accordingly, this lawsuit was filed by a group of US customers using the Mazda 6 line of cars in the California Supreme Court on September 3. They accused the automaker of burns caused by improperly functioning heated seats. Some people were even seriously injured and left scars after using heated seats on a Mazda 6.
Most of the customer's lawsuits have confirmed that Mazda has known about this problem for many years but deliberately "ignored" and did not give any warnings to consumers about the risk of burns.
A customer named Kristine D. expressed: "Mazda has put thousands of California citizens, including plaintiffs, in danger by still deliberately selling defective vehicles with serious safety risks and lower value than what is advertised."
In addition, Mazda has been accused of "deceiving customers" when continuing to promote and market the heating feature, even though it knows that this defect can harm users. The plaintiff said that if she had known about this Mazda 6 feature defect, she would not have bought the car or paid a lower price.
Currently, the plaintiffs are seeking a court with a panel of judges and Mazda must bear responsibility for multiple crimes, including unfair competition under the California Business and Professional Code.
The people behind the lawsuit also demanded that the world-famous automaker compensate for damages, including damages caused by serious injuries leading to disability, physical decline, mental pain and medical conditions as well as physical disabilities.
In addition, customers have forced Mazda to compensate for other damages such as losing the ability to enjoy life in the past and future related to the common feature errors in this cold season.
It is known that the D-size sedan - Mazda 6 was officially launched in 2002. Although considered a good product, in the North American market, this Japanese brand's car model has quite low sales and cannot compete with other domestic competitors such as Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.
