According to research, the owner of the pink 718 Spyder RS currently also owns a blue Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Meanwhile, the yellow 718 Spyder RS belongs to another businessman, who owns the red version of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. This shows the special interest of Vietnamese customers in the high-performance sports car line from the German brand.
In essence, the 718 Spyder RS is considered a convertible variant developed from the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. This roadster uses a 4-liter naturally aspirated 6-cylinder boxer engine - a type of engine that is also equipped on the Porsche 911 GT3 model. This engine block can reach a maximum speed limit of up to 9,000 rpm, bringing the familiar operating and sound characteristics of pure sports cars.
On the 718 Spyder RS, the engine produces a maximum power of 493 horsepower and a maximum torque of 449 Nm, 79 horsepower higher than the standard 718 Spyder version. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to the manufacturer's announcement, this model has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.2 seconds.
In terms of design, the front of the 718 Spyder RS has many similarities with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. The hood is made of carbon fiber material reinforced polymer (CFRP), integrating large vents to optimize cooling efficiency. Two NACA air vents help cool the braking system without increasing air resistance, while aerodynamic details in the front bumper contribute to increasing pressure on the road surface when operating at high speeds.
