On April 26, Road Traffic Police Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police said that in the past time, they have strengthened inspections of foreigners driving motorbikes in the Mui Ne area.
According to records at Mui Ne National Tourist Area, it is not difficult to encounter foreign tourists driving motorbikes. Entering the summer tourist season, the number of international visitors to Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is increasing rapidly.

Motorbikes are a means of transport chosen by many tourists to rent. However, differences in traffic regulations and not ensuring driver's license conditions pose a risk of unsafety.
Mr. Tran Duc Long - a motorbike rental service owner in Mui Ne said that before handing over motorbikes to foreign customers, the establishment checks documents according to regulations. At the same time, reminding tourists to drive carefully, not driving more than 60km/h.

In the past 2 weeks, during patrols on Nguyen Dinh Chieu street, Mui Ne ward, the Traffic Police stopped many foreign tourists. Among these, many cases did not carry papers, did not have driver's licenses. There were also cases where licenses were available but not valid according to regulations in Vietnam.
In fact, traffic accidents involving foreign tourists have occurred in the Mui Ne area. This situation poses a requirement to tighten the management of self-drive car rental activities.

Major Nguyen Thanh Quang - Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police said: "To minimize traffic accidents related to foreigners driving motorbikes, the unit has reviewed self-drive car rental establishments. At the same time, strengthen patrols and inspections and require motorbike rental units to sign commitments not to hand over vehicles to people who do not meet the conditions to participate in traffic.
Also according to functional forces, tightening management from leasing activities, combined with raising the awareness of law compliance of vehicle drivers is a necessary solution.
Thereby contributing to limiting traffic accidents and maintaining a safe and friendly tourism environment in Mui Ne during the summer peak.
