How to change the car's "modification" to be recorded in the vehicle registration file?

How to change car tires to have the replaced tire parameters recorded in the vehicle registration file and to be registered for the next inspection is of interest to many people.

Currently, some car owners arbitrarily change car tires with parameters different from the parameters on the inspection certificate, and in some cases, changing tires with parameters different from the tire parameters stated on the inspection certificate still passes the inspection, and in other cases, they do not. Many readers ask how to change car tires to pass the inspection and have the changed tire parameters recorded in the vehicle inspection file, as a basis and to facilitate the next periodic inspections.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Do Dac Huy - Director of the 20.09D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (Thai Nguyen City) said that the inspection agency bases on the inspection book or tire size of the manufacturer for inspection. In case it does not meet the prescribed standards, the inspector will require the vehicle owner to replace the tire with a new one for inspection.

Currently, the Vietnam Register has provided instructions to inspection units on the implementation of recording additional types of tires that can be installed in the vehicle records and inspection certificates for motor vehicles that are permitted by the manufacturer to use multiple types and sizes of tires.

The representative of the Vietnam Register also said that this is the basis for determining the regulations that manufacturers allow the use of many types and sizes of vehicle tires based on the manufacturer's documents, technical specifications manual, specifications recorded on the original etiket attached to the vehicle, the manufacturer's website or other technical publications that have been issued and have a clear origin.

Thus, when the car owner brings the car for inspection, in the tire inspection category, if the actual tire installed on the car is found to have different parameters than the one on the inspection certificate, the inspector will look up the above documents.

In case the current tire parameters are recorded in the above documents, it proves that this tire is allowed to be used by the manufacturer, the inspector evaluates it as passing the tire inspection category. At the same time, the new tire parameters allowed to be installed are recorded on the inspection certificate.

In case the additional tire is not found in one of the above documents, the car will fail the tire inspection and the vehicle will fail the vehicle inspection. The car owner must replace the tire with a suitable one and return to the vehicle inspection to receive a new inspection certificate and inspection sticker.

Talking to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, auto engineer Le Van Tach said that when the tire size is larger than the overall size, the speed will be distorted and not close to reality, causing the driver to lose the feeling of driving, which is very dangerous. According to engineer Tach, the manufacturer has researched and calculated very carefully about the appropriate size of rims and tires. "Modifying" the tire size to be larger will lead to the risk of the tire rubbing against the fenders and the vehicle's chassis systems.

"To ensure safety during vehicle movement, users need to comply with the manufacturer's regulations," engineer Le Van Tach recommends.
