Request the government to inspect and clarify
On August 25, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the unit has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Dong Hoi ward, requesting inspection and clarification of the underground power system in Sa Dong residential area that has not been connected after many years of investment.
The Office of the Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committee of Dong Hoi Ward to direct relevant units to inspect the reflected content, and at the same time report the implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee before August 30, 2026.
On the same day, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Dan - Chairman of Dong Hoi Ward People's Committee confirmed that after receiving instructions from the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, the locality will request relevant units to inspect and clarify the contents reflected by Lao Dong Newspaper.
Previously, on August 19, 2026, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article "Residential area invests in underground power system but has not been connected for 6 years", reflecting inadequacies in infrastructure at Sa Dong residential area, belonging to Bao Ninh 1 residential group, Dong Hoi ward.
This residential area has been invested in infrastructure for many years. However, to date, the low-voltage underground power system has not been connected for people to use. Households have to sign contracts with the electricity industry themselves and pull wires from outside into their houses.
According to reporters' records, many sections of electrical wires are temporarily pulled from the substation to households, with low positions, only about 1m above the ground; some sections are located close to the ground and covered with weeds. Some wires are temporarily fixed with iron bars about 4m high.
This situation not only causes unsightliness but also makes people worried about the risk of unsafety, especially in the rainy season when the area is frequently flooded.
Has the electricity sector not received it for management?
According to the Dong Hoi Land Fund Investment and Development Project Management Board, the technical infrastructure project of Sa Dong village residential area uses low-voltage underground cables in cable ditches, with a total length of about 559m, including 11 meter connection cabinets.
The project was accepted on May 18, 2020. The Acceptance Council determined that the project met technical requirements, equipment met operating standards, the lines were energized and safety checked, and agreed to put the project into operation and use.
However, according to people, although it has been accepted since 2020, why has it not been connected for people to use until now?
On August 25, a representative of Dong Hoi Power Company said that the unit had grasped the information reflected by Lao Dong Newspaper and proactively coordinated with the Dong Hoi Land Fund Investment, Construction and Development Project Management Board to inspect.
According to a representative of Dong Hoi Power Company, in 2020, the electricity industry and the investor deployed technical acceptance of the project. However, this is just acceptance, there is no handover record to the power company for management and operation.
The unit is continuing to inspect the scene to specifically determine the construction status and related procedures. The goal is to find solutions to overcome and soon stabilize people's lives.
