In recent years, stroke is gradually rejuvenating and becoming a concern for every family, especially for workers who often work at night or work directly under outdoor sunlight. Talking to Lao Dong, Doctor, Doctor Ha Tan Duc - Head of Stroke Department (Can Tho Central General Hospital) gave advice to prevent strokes for workers.
Accordingly, in the case of workers who work night shifts or who regularly work at night, they must sleep to make up for the next day, usually maintaining 7-8 hours of sleep/day.
Second, during work shifts, workers should limit consumption of beverages containing stimulants, such as coffee, tea or tobacco. The reason is because these drinks only help to stay awake temporarily, then it will make it difficult to switch to a state of rest, sleep is not deep, or sleep is interrupted.
Third, workers need to pay special attention to diet, it must be full of nutrients, and not skip meals. Especially eating late at night should be moderate, just to the point where you are not hungry and not too full, because it can affect the stomach and make it difficult to sleep.
In addition, according to Dr. Duc, workers who work outdoors are also at high risk of stroke because they are often exposed to high temperatures and lose a lot of water.
"For the risk of exposure to high temperatures, on days when it is too sunny, we must limit it. For dehydration, workers should drink water with electrolytes to compensate for the amount of salt lost in sweat.
Another tip is that workers can use fresh coconut water mixed with a little salt to limit the risk of stroke" - Dr. Duc added.
At the National Stroke Nursing Conference "Emergency treatment of ischemic stroke" on June 22, 2024, Specialist II doctor Pham Thanh Phong - Deputy Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital said, Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. In Vietnam, each year there are nearly 200,000 new stroke cases.
