Responding to this incident, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital (commonly known as Obstetrics and Gynecology) said: Immediately after receiving information about the incident, he directly checked the medical records and worked with the relevant teams during the days the patient was in the hospital according to the reflection of the mother and mother.
"First of all, I deeply share and sympathize with the loss of the patient and his family. However, from a professional perspective, I think this is a difficult case, the mother has a leak and is threatened with premature birth at the 25th week of pregnancy. With this case, examination must be very limited," said Professor Anh.
According to Professor Anh, in terms of expertise, the doctors followed the correct procedures. They prescribe the best medicine for patients. But as I said, leaks, in early pregnancy like this (a 25-week pregnancy), are very unlikely to have a chance.
The leader of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital affirmed: "I share the loss of the patient. I told the staff that out of thousands of difficult cases, 999 cases were saved, which is a great success in medicine. But 1 case that could not be saved was extremely painful for us, a huge loss for the patient's family.
Therefore, for any case, the doctor must be persistent, dedicated, and try his best no matter how difficult it is".
The Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital also affirmed that the hospital is reviewing and reviewing all procedures for receiving, examining and treating patients, and will strictly handle anyone with an incorrect attitude towards patients.
Previously, according to the patient's family's reflection on her personal page, when she was 20 weeks pregnant, Ms. A had a short cervical vertebrae and had to be stitched. At week 24, she showed symptoms of abdominal pain and was admitted to the hospital in Bac Giang province, where she was diagnosed with infertile labor pain and was hospitalized and treated.
However, due to her unhealthy condition and persistent abdominal pain, she was transferred to the Central Obstetrics Hospital on the 2nd day of Tet.
By the 3rd day of Tet, Ms. A was still quite gentle during the day, but every 5 minutes at night, a painful pain appeared.
"The pain made my wife unable to bear it, I called the emergency room to consult a doctor to give medicine to Tractocile (9 tubes for 2 days at a cost of 22 million) and then I had to end the Tet holiday.
On the 6th of Tet, when the doctors go to work, they say everything is normal, have taken the best medicine, monitor 1-2 days and can be discharged from the hospital. But by evening, my wife was in pain as if she had died, 5 minutes of pain, and had a lot of mucus and pink blood. At midnight, I also had to pay for medicine right away to get Tractocile injected that night," the patient's husband shared.
According to the patient's husband, on the morning of the 7th day of Tet, the doctor went to the room and saw that she was being given Tractocile and said that the mother's condition was not so bad that she had to be given. The doctor then refused to re-examine because he was giving her the medicine. That day, she was only given medicine instead of IV.
"That night, my wife kept having unbearable pain. There are even situations where the bed is wet, such as a broken water, and diapers must be closed. However, when examined by the doctor, they only concluded that the " air was bad" and continued to monitor him," the patient's husband shared.
On the morning of the 8th day of Tet, although the pain subsided, Ms. A still suffered from a lot of bleeding. At this time, the doctor went to the room to suspect the leak and gave him a blood test.
Having problems with her personality and her unstable child in the womb, Ms. A asked to be transferred to the hospital. According to Ms. A's husband, although the main doctor asked him why he wanted to be transferred to the hospital and promised to try to closely help his wife, the couple still decided to sign a voluntary commitment and immediately transfer him to the emergency room of Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital.
On the afternoon of the 9th day of Tet, right after transferring to Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, the patient was concluded by the doctor to have a dry taste, the taste of the broth was as cloudy as meat, and if it were later, the uterus would break down. The doctor said that in any case, they would prioritize saving the mother.
The baby was born prematurely, placed in an antibiotic infusion cage for 7 days, then had to be cut for 2 days before the infection continued to recur. At 3:00 a.m. on February 20, the baby passed away.
