On April 27, Can Tho City Police said that from the results of fighting and dismantling a property snatching gang operating at Tan Hue Vien Company (An Ninh commune), the Criminal Police Department continued to synchronously deploy professional measures, focusing on specialized cases against groups of subjects specializing in property snatching in this area.
Through investigation and verification, the Criminal Police force discovered another gang specializing in staging robberies led by Vi Thi Giau (born in 1982, permanently residing in Thoi Binh A area, O Mon ward, Can Tho city), with about 10 participants.
This group of subjects often takes advantage of crowded areas, especially when customers come to visit and shop at Tan Hue Vien Company to approach, create situations of jostling, collisions, and stage scenes to carry out acts of robbery of people's property.
Previously, on March 8, 2026, An Ninh Commune Police force in coordination with the people and security forces of Tan Hue Vien Company discovered and arrested Cao Van Phuoc (born in 1956, permanently residing in Thoi Binh A area, O Mon ward, Can Tho city) while participating with accomplices in committing robbery.
From here, the Criminal Police Department continued to expand the investigation and clarify the entire gang. Through the special case investigation process, the police force collected sufficient documents and evidence, and proceeded to arrest and search related subjects.
To date, the Investigation Police Agency has prosecuted a total of 10 defendants for the act of robbery. At the same time, they executed arrest warrants for temporary detention against 9 defendants, including: Vi Thi Giau; Nguyen Van Ut (born in 1988); Nguyen Van Long (born in 1978); Nguyen Thi Em (born in 1991); Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1977); Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1980); Nguyen Huu Tai (born in 1991); Nguyen Thanh Son (born in 2000) and Cao Van Phuoc (born in 1956).
As for defendant Cao Thi Be Thu (born in 1981), because she is raising a young child, she is considered not to apply the temporary detention measure.
Up to now, the subjects have all admitted to organizing and participating in the robbery of property in the Tan Hue Vien Company area.
